Bursera Graveolens (aka Palo Santo), is the wood from a wild native tree found in South America.

The name means “Holy Wood” and is a part of the Frankincense and Myrrh family.

It has the aromatic scent of pine, mint and lemon.

Palo Santo provides an uplifting scent, a great way to raise vibrations for meditation.

HOW TO SMUDGE:

1. Open doors and windows to release unwanted energies.

2. Take one stick (Can be broken into pieces), light with fire for about 10-15 seconds.

3. Walk around the space in which you wish to clear the energy and say a prayer of protection, banish all unwanted energy, and vision the outcome.

4. When finished, place the stick in a fire proof bowl of metal, glass or clay.

CAUTION:

If the stick burns too much, flip the burning side downward into the bowl, and apply pressure until the smoke decreases.

Take proper safety precautions such as turning off ceiling fans/drafts or moving any flammable objects away from the burning the Palo Santo.

NOTE:

Thin smoke indicates that the space is already clean.

Thick, rolling white smoke means that the Palo Santo is purifying the energy.

Take note of where the smoke is drifting, these will be the areas to focus on.

*Do not stop the burning the stick, when the energy is clear the Palo Santo will automatically stop burning on its own. Do not use water unless it is an emergency. *
